The Upper Hutt Chamber of Commerce and the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce in association with National Bank will be presenting "Managing the risks from within" - How to put in place plans to make sure your business isn’t caught out by circumstances beyond your control. Being in business is inherently risky, but by taking action now you can minimise the risks so you protect your health and your wealth.
Content: As a business owner you need to be able to answer the following questions:
Am I employing and managing people in the right way?
Do I have a suitable business structure?
Am I at risk of being sued?
Should I be doing something extra to minimize the risk of not being paid?
Am I adequately protecting my intellectual property?
What happens if a supplier doesn’t front up with the goods I need?
What would happen if I couldn’t gain access to my business premises tomorrow morning … how would I service my customers?
It’s so easy to think "It will never happen to us."
In the newspaper everyday we read of businesses that get caught out by circumstances, where in most cases they could have avoided most of the consequences with a bit of planning.
This workshop will take you through a series of scenarios to highlight a number of everyday issues that could potentially bring your business to its knees. In some cases you could even end up in jail! But as the saying goes … it doesn’t need to end up like this.
